My mother was a swimmer, and she instilled a love of swimming in me as a child. My children spend their summers the same way I did - swimming for our neighborhood swim team. I still enjoy swimming today and have even participated in some open water swims as an adult.
I became fascinated with the Swim Savvy teaching method when my youngest took lessons with Carla. After years of frustrating lessons for my older children, I had finally found something that made sense and looked like how I was taught to swim. I will never forget the moment he found his first diving board and realized he could safely have fun in the water.
The relief I felt once all three of my children were able to survive in the water is something I wanted to help provide to other families as well. I joined the Swim Savvy team in 2015, and enjoy helping brand new swimmers learn the basic skills of survival in the water as well as helping older swimmers become stronger and more skilled. My favorite moments are when a student's hard work finally makes sense to them, and a reluctant swimmer becomes joyful and confident.
